Chi-Ki teams with Softchoice Cares : March 2008

Chi-Ki & Softchoice Cares join forces to build the first Computer Vocational Training Center in Ban Kiukacham, Laos, starting construction planned for January 2008
Our goal is to build and administer an educational curriculum about computers, their life cycle, and the need to protect the environment by reducing, reusing, recycling and restoring.
Reduce – What can we do to reduce waste and be more energy efficient?
Reuse – Schools, non-profits and low-income families here and oversees can benefit from used technology in good working order and help to reduce the digital divide.
Recycle – When electronics are no longer viable they can be taken apart and disposed of properly. Parts can be used to produce working machines for donation.
Restore – How can we help clean up already contaminated land?

Fall 2007 Report

Computers are a welcome addition to our Chi-Ki Educational Learning Center. The children received 5 computers and a printer in the CHIKI Library. Children are learning how to use the computers. They are learning how to recycle, reduce waste through the safe dispostal of the parts and protect their natural resources of agriculture and water.

"To accomplish great things, we must not only act but also dream; not only plan but also believe."
Anatole France 1844-1924

Raising funds for 2008
